About the FTCE
The Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) are required tests for prospective educators in Florida. They ensure that teachers demonstrate the necessary pedagogical and general knowledge. The primary overarching tests most teachers take include:
- General Knowledge Test (GK) — Tests basic academic skills in English Language Skills, Reading, Mathematics, and an Essay (four subtests) required for all teachers regardless of subject area.
- Professional Education Test — Tests pedagogy, professional practices, standards, and typical education methodology.
- Elementary Education K-6 — Required content area exam for K-6 teachers containing four subtests: Language Arts & Reading, Social Science, Science, and Mathematics.
How to Register
All registration is handled through the FTCE/FELE website. Testing fees vary drastically between tests and subtests. Exams are taken at approved CBT testing centers. You must wait 31 days before retaking any non-passing test or subtest.
About Our Practice Tests
All questions are original and written to match the difficulty, format, and topic coverage of the real exams based on official FTCE blueprints and frameworks. We offer two modes: Practice Mode gives you instant feedback and explanations after each question, and Test Mode simulates the real exam with a timer and no feedback until you submit. Both modes are completely free with no account required.
